Tina Burton is a strategic communications professional living in Charlotte, North Carolina. Specializing in the handling of internal/employee communication within organizations on the verge of big, small, short- and long-term change, Tina has 10+ years of experience managing and leading projects in the financial, food, media, retail, and transportation industries.

Tina's career began at the top-ranked historically black college, Howard University, where she graduated with a degree in journalism, and shortly after, started her own communications business in Los Angeles. The City of Angels (and outstanding taco trucks) helped her grow a network of small, mid-sized, and large clients in a variety of industries, supporting them with branding, web design, creative writing, technical writing, and newsletter design. After a few years, she decided to take on full-time employee communications projects in the Heartland working with railroad titans Union Pacific, BNSF Railway, and Amtrak, and food producer Conagra Brands on regional employee communications. Tina showed off her intranet communications and employee communication chops with 2013 and 2014 projects for retailer Ascena Retail Group and media giant News Corp.

With more professional experience under her belt, and a growing passion for the niche realm of employee communications, in late 2014, Tina began a full-time role in Los Angeles with global food producer ARYZTA as a strategic communications manager.

After her father passed away in late 2015, Tina moved home to Charlotte to be closer to her mother where she began consulting with global packaging company Sealed Air, and shortly after, was offered a position with payment services firm Bank of America Merchant Services. At Merchant Services, she spent two years leading the of the company's internal communications strategy, supporting product market initiatives, leading editorial meetings, writing and distributing internal communications from leaders, producing internal videos, writing stories about employees for the intranet, and redesigning the weekly internal e-newsletter.

Currently, Tina is consulting with Wells Fargo.

Off the job, Tina is a rabid fan of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Game of Thrones. She spends most of her time with her mother and her best friends, playing Monopoly, reading, exploring the Charlotte food and concert scene, going on road trips, and riding her unicycle.
